Today me,my mom, and Ryder went out for lunch at Popo's. We have been eating at this mexican restaurant since I was a little girl.
Notice the pacifier in Ryder's mouth! Ever since he was born he has refused a pacifier, in fact he would get angry if you tried to give him one. In the last week he has been sucking on his hands more than usual and fussing so I tried giving him the paci and he took it right away. He was having a hard time keeping it in his mouth at first, but now he is a pro. I thought I would get by and not have to give him one, but he really does like it and it makes him happy, so paci it is! !
While we were eating I decided to dip Ryder's pacifier in my ice water just to cool it off. He seemed to really like that, so I decided to let him try a piece of ICE! ! He stuck his tongue out and was licking it, he didn't know what to think. I have been very strict with my rule of breast milk only and he has never had anything besides my milk. When I told Jason that I let him try ice he said that I was breaking my own rule, and I said "I'm the Mommy, I don't have any rules"Ryder has his 4 month appointment next week and his pediatrician said that she would talk to me about starting him on cereal! ! I am so excited to see his first taste! ! I can't wait ! !
make sure and take lots of cute and funny pictures when he gets his first bite...I'm sure he will be in heaven!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree on the breast milk only rule! I didn't even start rice cereal until she was almost 6 months old (they say babies have a risk of food allergies the earlier you start). So good for you! I am so proud that you are a nursing momma too! Camdyn to this day is still nursing! Ryder is so cute with his paci! :)Also.....my dad went to school with the Popo family, so my parents have been eating there since they were in highschool. Anytime we are over there we always eat there! In fact we have family scattered all over the United States and some of them fly in just to eat at Popo's!:) So funny you guys like it too!

I agree with Corie, I never fed any of my kids solid food til they were 6 months old. If you were on WIC or food stamps they do not give you assistance for solid food for a baby til they are 6 months old. Breast milk gives him all he needs til then. I would ask your Dr. but I'm sure she or he will say wait at least another month. Besides he is already a BIG boy!!!!!! Just my 2 cents worth!!!! You have a MOM!!!!!
