Trick-or-TREAT

Mommy's Little Pumpkin

I had to work this afternoon and Ryder stayed with Daddy. I made sure to lay out this outfit so Daddy could dress Ryder up for Halloween.

A FUN night in the Gibbs Household...

We had an eventful day and night (all night) yesterday. Ryder had a low fever all day and was just not acting like his usual silly, happy self. We were monitoring his temp all day, I called the Dr and they said to just give him some tylenol and monitor his temp to make sure it did not get to 104. I was so nervous, especially with all this swine flu stuff. Ryder was miserable all night, he was burning up, his temp got to 102.9. He wanted to be held all night, so I was up all night with him. By the morning he still felt warm but his temp went down to 99. He is not 100%, but at least he is playing, smiling, and laughing again.
I think I discovered the culprit for all of this fever business, his teeth. I always hear that babies may get a fever when they are teeting. If you look closely you can see his top teeth are coming in. It looks like 2 for sure, maybe even 4 ! !
His SMILE is gonna look super CUTE with all those toofers :)

Our Busy Day

Ryder and I started our day bright and early. We woke up, ate breakfast and headed to our StollerStrides class (which we have been loving). On Friday's they always do an activity. Today we made Ghostly Soles. We dipped the kids feet in white paint, put their footprint on paper, added eyes to make a ghost, and a note that says "trick or treat smell my feet give me something good to eat" It came out really cute.

After Stroller Strides we headed home and got ready for a fun day with Daddy, he took us to the pumpkin patch.....
there were all kinds of fun things to do there....rides...

StrollerStrides

I tried out the StrollerStrides workout program this morning. StrollerStrides is a workout program led by a trainer. The cool thing about it is that you bring baby along with you and push them through the park. There are several stops along the way where we did lunges, squats, pushups, jumping jacks, running drills, crunches, and resistance band. When I first heard about StrollerStrides I thought it would be a bunch of mommies strolling thru the park and chatting, once we started up I realized I was in for a good workout. It was AAAAWWSOME. Just what I needed. Since Ryder is going to be 1, I realize that the "You just had a baby" number is not going to work for me anymore and I need to get my butt in gear and into shape. Ryder was a perfect boy the whole time, he took in the scenery and watched me get my butt kicked. One part he was sitting in his stroller just clapping, the trainer said "what a good support system you have" All the other mommies were really nice and friendly!
After the workouts on Friday they always have a little activity. Today we made SPOOKY HANDS. We used a plastic glove, put candy corn in for fingernails, filled the rest with popcorn, and put a spider ring on the finger.
I forgot my camera, so this is snapped with my phone.
I signed up for more classes, and can't wait to start up a routine.

9 Month Appointment...

Yes, we are a little late....Ryder will be 11 months at the end of this month and we just got his 9 month appointment done. The little guy is happy and healthy, we couldn't ask for more.
He weighed in at 22 lbs. 6.5 oz. and 30 inches. His length is in the 75th % and weight is 50th %. He used to be in the 95th % for his weight, so all the movin' and crawlin' is really starting to thin him out. He still has his chubby little legs that I love so much.
The Dr. talked to me about his teeth (he still only has 2), flu immunizations (the office is already out of their first batch and there is a waiting list), eating habits, and weaning (Ryder is still nursing, only 4 time a day now though).

All dressed and ready to go. He looks like a little man.

Messy Baby

Along with his homemade fruit purees, we have been giving Ryder gerber graduates for lunch. He really doesn't like them and will only eat a little bit at a time. We are trying to get him used to eating bigger boy food. Today I let him have control of the bowl and the spoon. He made a huge mess and had alot of fun.
