Chef MOMMY !

Ryder was getting low on his babyfood and I thought it was time to try some new things, so we went to SPROUTS and got lots of goodies. I was busy making babyfood for a few hours. Luckily I don't have to make it too often, what I make and freeze usually lasts a pretty long time. We have some yummy new puress to try! I will also be giving Ryder yogurt this week, we got full-fat whole milk yogurt to mix in with some of his fruit veggie purees. I think Ryder is eating better than me and Jason.

First on the menu, banana and blueberry !

I think he liked it ! ! !

Jason had a shift change this week and got today off, so we had a fun, busy family day. Our day started this morning at 8:30, we had Ryder's 6 month photo session with our photographer, she got some really good shots of Jason and Ryder. I can't wait to see them!
After our photo shoot we headed over to my sister's so that Jason and Ryder could meet the new baby. Ryder looks like a little giant compared to lil' Jesse.
Ryder wanted to touch his new baby cousin

Our next stop was to a birthday party. The party was at the park and it was such a nice day out. We hung out with friends, had a little lunch, and played a little at the water park area.

The last stop of the day was to Nana and Papa's. We took Ryder swimming in the pool for his FIRST time. It was funny when we first put him in, I think the cold water took his breath away. It took him a few minutes to get used to the water, but after he did he loved it!
Here's Jason putting him in for the first time

Sippy-Cup

After Ryder's appointment yesterday we got home and I got into my baby supplies and got out his sippy cup so he could try it out! The pediatrician said that it will take him a while to catch on, he seems to be doing pretty well, I don't know that he's actually getting much water, but he sure looks cute!

Bath Time Is Getting Alot More Fun!

Since Ryder has been sitting up on his butt I have taken his little baby tub out and let him take a big boy bath in the real tub. We got out all of his bath toys and he sure is having fun! He has even cried a few times when I take him out! !

In His CRIB

After alot of hesitation and a little tears, we decided to move Ryder out of his pack n' play in our room and into his crib. I was pretty sad and felt like I was kicking him out of our room, or thought that when he would wake up in the middle of the night that he would know he was not in our room and be scared. I know it is best to move him into his crib, it's alot more comfortable and that is where he needs to get used to sleeping. We hooked up the baby monitors ( I have the volume up full blast, I want to be able to hear him breathing) and he has been in the crib all this week!

I also picked up a few pairs of jammies for him while out shopping and had to take a picture each night before he went to bed.

6 Month Dr. Visit

Ryder had his 6 month appointment today. He is 26 1/4 inches and weighed in at 20 lbs 3 oz ! ! The pediatrician said that he is a BIG BOY! He can sit on his butt now, but doesn't seem to be rolling over much, she said that bigger babies sometimes aren't as mobile. We can also start giving Ryder water, I am going to use a sippy cup, I don't want him to get too hooked on a bottle. By next month we should start him on meats (which I still plan on making homemade) and he can have the little baby cookies. I was also advised that I should stop nursing Ryder back to sleep when he wakes up in the middle of the night, we want to break him of this habit, and apparently the older he gets the harder it will be. He is not sleeping thru the night for the most part. We have some good nights and we have some bad nights.

...had to black out his lil' peenie

On The Menu This Week

We are still sticking with making Ryder's babyfood and every couple of weeks I am trying to get him something new to try. This week was avocado puree, not only avocado but I mixed it with the banana puree (it was one of the puree recipes in my book). Ryder loves this puree and gobbles it up, we use about 1/3 banana and 1/2 avocado, which looks like a ton of food but he eats it all ! ! Next week we're gonna try apple and peach puree ! ! Sounds so good ! !

Look at this BIG BOY !

Ryder is becoming such a big boy and is getting more and more coordinated every day - So we are breaking out the new toys. He loves sitting on this little giraffe rocker, he really thinks that he is hot stuff balancing on his own. We do have to stay right there with him, just in case, he's still a bit wobbly :)
